482 Visa Document Checklist 2026: Applicant, Sponsor & Nomination Evidence
A 482 application is really three connected files: sponsorship, nomination and visa. A strong document checklist therefore needs to prove the employer’s standing, the genuineness of the position and the worker’s personal eligibility.
Applicant documents
Typical evidence includes passport and identity documents, CV, qualifications, registrations or licences, English evidence where required, police certificates, health information when requested, and documents proving relevant work experience.
Work experience evidence
Use more than one form of evidence where possible. Employer references should be supported by payslips, tax returns, bank statements, payroll records, contracts or other contemporaneous records. Dates and duties should match the applicant’s immigration history.
Employer sponsorship documents
The business may need corporate registration material, financial records, organisational information and evidence supporting its lawful and active operations. New or restructuring businesses should be prepared to explain their trading history and workforce.
Nomination documents
The nomination should be supported by a detailed position description, employment contract, salary and AMSR evidence, labour market testing where required, organisational structure and evidence showing why the position is genuine and available.
Family member documents
For partners and children, prepare identity documents, relationship evidence, birth certificates, custody documents where relevant, and health or character material if requested. Subsequent entrant strategy should be considered where family members are not applying at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need certified copies of every document?
Not always. Follow current Home Affairs document requirements and provide clear scans. Translations must meet the applicable requirements.
How many payslips should I provide?
There is no universal number. The goal is to establish the claimed employment period credibly and consistently.
Does the employer need financial statements?
Often they are useful, especially where business capacity or the genuineness of the position may be questioned.
Should I upload everything at once?
A well-organised decision-ready application is preferable, but irrelevant bulk documents can make the file harder to assess.
